The Eno River Literary Journal, now in its fourth year, was featured prominently in The Raleigh News & Observer (July 18, 2012) by Flo Johnston, editor of "Faith in Focus" column. The article mentioned that the journal has grown from 17 submissions its first year to 60 this year.
It noted that giving "new voices" a place to be heard is an aim of the publication and that it is intergenerational—the writers range in age from 11 to about 90. Ms. Johnston quotes the editor, Ceil Cleveland, as saying the most exciting part of her work is discovering raw, unpublished talent and helping them gain confidence in shaping their stories. The column featured a photo of the cover of this issue, a photograph by Linda Grant and noted the editorial board, David J. Halperin, Ted Fiske, and LaVerne Coan, all published authors. The Journal contains work by members and friends of ERUUF and is available at the ERUUF bookstore.
