  • Spirit

    Spirit of Life, come unto me.
    Sing in my heart all the stirrings of compassion.
    Blow in the wind, rise in the sea;
    Move in the hand, giving life the shape of justice.
    Roots hold me close; wings set me free;
    Spirit of Life, come to me, come to me.

    (from the song "Spirit of Life" by Carolyn McDade)

  • Service

    Many UU congregations recite the following affirmation:

    "Love is our doctrine, the quest for truth is our sacrament, and service is our prayer."

  • Justice

    The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice.

    (UU Theologian, Theodore Parker)

  • Love

    love banner

    Power without love is reckless and abusive, and love without power is sentimental and anemic. Power at its best is love implementing the demands of justice, and justice at its best is power correcting everything that stands against love.

The Eno River Fellowship Foundation (ERFF) is a permanent endowment established in 1989 with a gift from Fran and Bill Hollister, founding members of ERUUF. The endowment has grown to almost $700,000 thanks to generous gifts and careful stewardship by the Investment Committee. The Foundation does not support ERUUF's operating budget but funds projects that enhance the Fellowship and its work in the community. Each year a percentage of the Foundation's assets is paid out for proposals submitted in September, considered by members of the ERFF board, and awarded in November. Only earnings from the Foundation's endowment are used in making grants so that all gifts become part of the perpetual endowment of the Foundation.
