ERUUF Care Ministries TeamCare Ministries Team supports our members and friends during times of crises and change as well as times of joyful transition. If you are experiencing a pastoral emergency please call the office for the minister on call. (919- 489-2575). Care Council leaders coordinate the following care ministries: Pastoral Associates Program – a lay ministry which provides trained volunteers to respond with confidential, caring presence and support to those enduring grieving, illness, injury, disability, marital changes, unemployment, care giving, isolation, inability to attend church or other difficult life situations. Pastoral Associates serve under the direction of the ministers. Currents – editor of the “Fellowship Family” monthly column for the newsletter. Flower Ministry – worship service flower arrangements are divided into smaller arrangements and delivered by volunteers to members who might be experiencing illness or other life transitions. Card Writers – designated volunteers send cards to members and friends who are celebrating joyful events or experiencing life transitions, illness, or loss. Helping Hands - volunteers are available to help with the occasional needs such as a ride home after a medical procedure, a casserole after a new baby, surgery, incapacitating illness or death in the family, help with a memorial service, or staffing the Care Ministries Table at Coffee Hour. Health Ministry – offers monthly blood pressure screening and hosts the Red Cross blood drives. Care Ministry Table – trained volunteers are available each Sunday during Coffee Hour to provide a caring presence, answer questions from potential volunteers, and provide an opportunity for individuals to write personal cards to members and friends in need of a caring card. Clicking for a Cause – volunteers create beautiful knitted and crocheted items for members and friends as well as people in the Durham and Chapel Hill communities. Care shawls, block afghans, work caps, baby blankets, chemo caps, and preemie items. Care Teams – A Care Team is created to support the ongoing and immediate needs of a member experiencing a long term illness or crisis.
