DESCRIPTION:Facilitated by Rev. Jacqueline Brett.\nThis spring\, over the c
ourse of five sessions\, we'll cultivate our gifts for resilience by explo
ring poems as sources that inspire us. The process will be twofold: readin
g the work of others and writing our own works through practices of reflec
 tion\, presence\, healing\, and 'good medicine'.\nNo writing experience is
  necessary\, only an open heart and a commitment to process\, practice\, a
ndpresence (for self and others).  Participants are asked to select a publ
ished collection of poetry they find inspiring to work with over the cours
e of the class. A list of collections to consider will be provided.\nThis
class is designed as a small-group community of practice rather than a dro
p-in class. Please register in advance below.\nQuestions? Contact Michele

DESCRIPTION:Our May meeting will focus on planning for the work that we nee
d to do over the summer for our fall events.\nWe will be screening the doc
umentary The Librarians on Sunday\, October 4th\, at 4pm. We plan to have
a panel discussion after the screening. We need volunteers to work on gett
ing 3 or 4 folks for the panel (we have a couple of leads)\, to come up wi
th questions for the panel (the documentary’s website has suggestions)\, t
o publicize the event\, etc. One of our goals is to educate people about i
ssues surrounding separation of church and state (history\, policy\, court
decisions\, etc). Our second project is to come up with questions for a T
rivia Night about separation of church and state. We need a group to work
on this. Ideally questions will be multiple choice questions that provide
an opportunity to educate with the wrong answers as well as the right answ
ers.\nFor more information\, contact the Separation of Church & State Team
