Earth and Climate Justice Month is a way for all ERUUFians to actively choose to live more sustainably and harmoniously with our interdependent web through practical actions such as driving more fuel-efficient vehicles, eating less meat and more plant-based diets, and investing in renewable energy.

April 3-24: NW Earth Institute’s Eco-challenge
Looking for ways YOU CAN ACT immediately to lower your carbon footprint? We invite you to join the ERUUF Team in the NWEI Drawdown EcoChallenge, a 21-day engagement program focused on carbon reduction. This EcoChallenge connects your actions with the Top 100 Solutions to global warming highlighted by Project Drawdown based on scientific research. Participants track and share their progress on a robust but easy to use online platform, earning points for taking action. The Drawdown EcoChallenge provides tools and inspiration to turn intention into action. offering over 80 actions within seven challenge categories to give participants fun and social ways to think about and act on proven solutions to reverse global warming.

Saturday, April 6: Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream
This 4-hour Pachamama Alliance symposium provides a multi-media experience that inspires participants to stand for an entirely new possibility for our future—an environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilling and socially just human presence on this planet! It includes short videos and talks, and group and individual exercises.

Monday, April 22: Vegan Potluck Supper and Presentations
A plant-based potluck followed by presentations by Dr. Jonathan Sheline on the health and environmental benefits of plant-based eating and by local author Howard Jacobsen on HOW to make a major behavioral change.
Wednesday, April 24: Talk & Demo- Plant Based in Practice with Christine Frost and Angie Ceroli
Interested in learning more about how to cook for a healthy, earth-friendly lifestyle? If so, please join Christine and Angie for their how-to presentation which includes a food demo and samples!
Saturday, April 27: Sustainable Living Fair
Join our first Sustainable Living Fair! This is a day of talks by experts in various domains of sustainable living to include our keynote speaker on socially and environmentally responsible investing, Pete Krull, CEO & Director of Investments for Earth Advisors located in Asheville, NC. Other topics include waste reduction, electric vehicle ownership, cohousing, tiny homes, and residential solar power 101.
Sunday, April 28: Earth Day Celebratory Feast
Following our annual Earth Day Worship Service, all ERUUFians are invited to this locally catered plant-based feast to celebrate Earth Day, the culmination of our Common Read, our annual Plant-Based Diet Week, and Earth-Climate Justice Month. We'll enjoy fellowship, listen to music, eat delicious food, and share stories about what we learned during the month.
