Creating an opportunity for the ERUUF community to practice generosity every other month, ERUUF gives away the collection plate offering from a designated Sunday to an organization aligned with UU values and working for social justice.  The Generosity Sunday Committee reviews nominations of potential organizations to select the recipients. In our decisions, we strive to support ERUUF's commitment to increase equality, justice and peace among members of the world community.

To be selected, organizations must meet our selection criteria that include:

  1. tax-exempt status,
  2. those that foster improvements to the human condition,
  3. non-political or individual causes focus,
  4. alignment with the principles and goals of UUA and ERUUF, and
  5. absence of required allegiance to a particular religious stance.

We give priority review to those nominations received from ERUUF's members and friends.

The Generosity Sunday Committee urges members and friends to nominate potential recipients of the Generosity Sunday collections. Nomination forms are available via the website (Nomination Form) or the office and should be turned into the office when completed. So far this program has donated an average of over $2,000 to each selected organization.

Committee members:  Joy Sotolongo (chair), Mel Downy-Piper, Steve Hall, Jackie Wachholz, Ted Fiske, Jane Paulsen, Ann Ringland, Peter Aitken and Rev. Deborah Cayer

Thank you so much for supporting this practical expression of generosity.
