Our Whole Lives (OWL)

OWL is a comprehensive, lifespan sexuality education curricula for use in both secular settings and faith communities. It provides honest, accurate information about sexuality. It dismantles stereotypes and assumptions, builds self-acceptance and self-esteem, fosters healthy relationships, and improves decision-making. Our Whole Lives helps participants make informed and responsible decisions about their health and behavior. It equips participants with accurate, age-appropriate information in six subject areas: human development, relationships, personal skills, sexual behavior, sexual health, and society and culture.

OWL Word CloudOWL is a limited enrollment class and requires a parent orientation and permission to enroll. Our OWL teachers complete comprehensive training facilitated by trainers from the UUA prior to teaching. The curricula are based on the Guidelines for Comprehensive Sexuality Education produced by the National Guidelines Task Force, a group of leading health, education, and sexuality professionals assembled by the Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States. For more information about OWL, visit the UUA site. OWL is a resource-intensive program, as program facilitators are trained through the UUA’s guidelines. OWL requires a great deal of volunteer time, energy, and financial resources to run. If you are passionate about OWL, please let the D.R.E. know how you would like to support the program at ERUUF. We strive to offer a variety of age levels of OWL every year, and with support, we can do this.

*Pre-registration is required for all OWL classes. Please complete an RE registration form before registering for the OWL program.
