Dr. Badanes is Director of Music at Eno River UU Fellowship since 2005. He holds the DMA in choral conducting from Stony Brook University, where was a student of Timothy Mount. In addition he has worked with Ward Swingle, Lee Kjelson, David Lawton and Marguerite Brooks. Dr. Badanes has championed new choral music throughout his career, premiering works here and abroad with universities including St Bonaventure and Virginia Tech, where he was Delta Omicron Professor of the Year in 2002. Badanes was the founder of the acclaimed Long Island Chamber Singers, performing new music in cathedral venues in the metropolitan NY area.
Kevin Badanes is an active singer, choral arranger and clinician, and has presented performances and workshops at American Choral Directors Association conferences in New York, Virginia, and West Virginia, and given workshops at the national conference of the UU Musicians Network He has served as chorus master for productions with Opera Roanoke, Capital Opera, and the Opera Company of North Carolina. In addition to his position at ERUUF, Badanes is currently the founder and music director of Avante, a professional contemporary vocal jazz ensemble.
