Julia was raised in a UU church in Lake Country, WI. She grew up with music, questions, a passion for social justice, and respect for all religions. Julia loves learning about the different ways people pray, hope, and persevere. She wonders why life exists, and what people hold on to when hard times come. What motivates people to do good, to take care of each other, and Earth? She hopes to become more present in her day-to-day movements, and help others become more present for their lives too.
Julia serves as Director of Religious Education in order to expand thoughts, patterns, and people. She is an avid champion of Coming of Age, Neighboring Faiths, and the Our Whole Lives programs, and she intends to make you a champion of Religious Education ministries as well. In her free time, she can be found backpacking, playing music, and attempting all sorts of DIY projects. She is in love with Durham, and excited about the art, food, and anti-oppression efforts happening in the area. She looks forward to getting to know you and your families at ERUUF.
