Voter Registration Weekend
Eruuf, All Souls D.C., Monument Church partnership: October 8-9, Voter Education & Registration:
Voter Advocacy Weekend: Oct 8th & 9th. ERUUF is partnering with guests from All Souls Unitarian of Washington, DC and Monument of Faith Church (Durham), a historically black congregation near NCCU. Adults and teens are invited to participate in this voter advocacy project. Walking and stationery advocacy posts will be available.
The event begins with "Youcanvote" voter education training for Adults/Youth starting at Monument of Faith Church on Sat, Oct. 8 at 9 am. The training will be facilitated by Kate Fellman, director of the non-profit, non-partisan group, youcanvote.org. There is space for up to 100 volunteers.
Following the training, at 10:30 am, the volunteers will start voter engagement/registration in two-hour shifts. Monument of Faith (Bishop Clarence Laney, Pastor) is located at 900 Simmons St., Durham, NC 27701.
Saturday night we will celebrate together at CAFE Eruuf (and some may choose to go out to downtown Durham together)!
On Sunday, Oct. 9 voter engagement resumes in neighborhoods near ERUUF at 1-3 pm. Come to Eruuf's 11:15 service and stay for coffee hour.
Volunteer option: We will need help with carpooling on both days; some people may need rides from homes or from Eruuf to Youcanvote meet-ups. Would you add your name to a Potential Carpool Sign up?
