Join us for an informal service of readings and prayers. In addition, we will continue our discussion of Marcus Borg's "Reading the Bible Again for the First Time" with Chapter 9, "Reading Paul Again." Paul letters ("the epistles") are the earliest documents in the New Testament, written starting about 20 years after the execution of Jesus. Paul is often credited with (and blamed for) shaping Christianity in its early years. Borg presents a different way to think about the Bible based on his knowledge as both a scholar of Biblical history and a Christian. His straightforward style makes for a straightforward discussion that should be relevant even if you haven't read the book.
