Ostara Spring Equinox Celebration
You are warmly invited to join us in person to celebrate Ostara and Spring Equinox.
At Spring Equinox, there is an equal balance of light and dark, day and night, all over our beautiful Mother Earth, a balance we can welcome into our lives and our hearts. Ostara is an ancient name for this time of year -- the Season of Eastre (or Eostre), the Teutonic Goddess of Spring whose sacred animal is the Rabbit, and who is honored by gifts of red-dyed eggs left on the doorsteps of family and friends.
In fact, our word "Easter" comes directly from Her Name, and the time of our Easter celebration is timed as Hers is ~ by the first Full Moon following Spring Equinox!
Our gathering will include ceremony, a sacred song with simple movements, Calling the Directions, group sharing, and a hands-on creative ritual festooning Ostara eggs. You may wish to wear a festively-decorated Ostara bonnet or hat! This is a participatory gathering open to all those ages 16 and older, and to children ages 15 and younger who are accompanied by a parent or guardian.
