Spiritual Practice for Justice Makers: Gratitude
Spiritual Practice for Justice Makers: Gratitude
Saturday, April 17, 2021, 9:00 - 11:00 am via Zoom
Gratitude is not a psychological or political panacea, like a secular prosperity gospel, one that denies pain or overlooks injustice, because being grateful does not "fix" anything....Gratitude, however, invalidates the false narrative that these things are the sum total of human existence, that despair is the last word. Gratitude gives us a new story.
~ Diana Butler Bass
During this class, we'll explore gratitude as a powerful practice of self-care —but we won't stop there. We'll also consider how to move gratitude out beyond our thoughts and journal pages to become a catalyst in alleviating injustice, and effecting change in the world.
