RENews:
This past Sunday, children and youth gathered to learn more about chalices and create more beautiful chalice art! They started by introducing themselves to the group, and sharing something they are excited about this week (many answers involved air conditioning)! Then, they listened to a story about the historical significance of the flaming chalice, and the different ways that chalices are used in Unitarian Universalism. Afterwards, children and youth created their own chalice artwork using tissue paper, glue, and markers. The artwork they made will be displayed in the sanctuary lobby in August.
We hope you can join us next week as we continue our Religious Education summer classes with a fun bubbles and slime class! And if you haven’t already, be sure to check out the second RE art display in the sanctuary lobby.

This past Sunday, our children and youth came together for a fun-filled, mini-golf-themed RE class! We kicked off the class by introducing ourselves, followed by a fun exploration of mini golf. Everyone had the opportunity to decorate their very own golf ball, resulting in a variety of colorful and imaginative designs! They also got to craft their own mini-golf courses and, of course, enjoyed plenty of playtime together. In fact, we had so much fun, we completely forgot to take photos!
Also this past week, six of our Coming of Age youth (along with Moritz and Rev. Jim) spent Thursday through Monday (July 10-14th) exploring UU history on their pilgrimage to Boston. Stay tuned for a blog post for more details, photos, and highlights from the youth!
We hope you’ll join us this upcoming Sunday for another exciting RE class! This time, we’ll be crafting chalices, which will be proudly displayed in the sanctuary lobby later this summer.

Each child then selected a flower that resonated with them and brought it to life through art—using their fingers, paintbrushes, Q-tips, and paint markers to create beautiful artwork. It was a joyful and creative RE experience!
We hope you'll join us this coming Sunday for a fun-filled summer activity: mini golf! Children and youth will personalize their own golf balls, design and build a mini golf course, and then enjoy playing a round on the course they created!

This past Sunday, our children and youth had a great time making suncatchers and learning about the Summer Solstice. As part of the lesson, they shared what they love to do on a sunny day—answers included going to the beach, playing with toys, and swimming in the pool. Then, they created their own suncatchers, each with a loop to hang them in a sunny window. It was a great day to see their artwork shine!
These creations will be displayed in the sanctuary lobby later this month—stop by to see them!

RENews:
This past Sunday, children and youth channeled their inner imagination as they made fun creations out of cardboard boxes. It was truly a day of “thinking outside of the box” as the children and youth played a fun imaginative game, read the book Not a Box by Antoinette Portis, and designed masterpieces out of ordinary cardboard boxes. They made rocket ships, houses, airplanes, people’s faces, and abstract art. It was a super fun and silly summer RE class!
We hope you can join us next week as we continue our summer RE classes. All children and youth will gather together to make tie dyes as we begin our celebration of pride month! We will have gloves and “scrap t-shirts” for children to wear to protect their clothing. Their final creations will be featured in the art gallery in the sanctuary lobby later this month.

This past Sunday, children and youth gathered together to discuss using their imaginations to help and find hope. All grades gathered together and participated in a guided meditation story, complete with silly movements and an inspiring message. They also decorated an envelope of seeds, to help us all remember that hope and healing begins with imagination. It was a very inspiring class!
We hope you can join us this upcoming Sunday as children and youth will learn about how we can use our imagination to think outside of the box!
