This past Sunday, children and youth gathered to begin a new theme of the month: The Power of Paying Attention!
The PreK/K children started the class by playing a game of compliment toss, where they complimented each other and tossed a small ball around. Then, they learned about the importance of paying attention to our impact on others, and how nice words can go a long way. They also read the book Stick and Stone by Beth Ferry, and enjoyed the nice weather on the playground!

This past Sunday, children and youth gathered for the final Sunday of the month. They wrapped up the month by learning about how we can find resilience through silliness!
The PreK/K class jumped right into introducing themselves and everyone got to light their own chalice candle! Then, they read the book Click, Clack, Moo, Cows that Type! By Doreen Cronin, and they shared a good laugh during a whoopie cushion moment! They also did a silly craft, where they made their own silly sculptures. Toothpicks quickly became ‘spikes’ during craft time! They wrapped up the class by playing fun circle games and giggling together!

This past Sunday, children and youth gathered to continue learning about the February theme of the month, embodying resilience! They also learned about Ramadan!
The PreK/K class started by introducing themselves and talking about what resilience means and why it is important. They then learned about Ramadan and read a book together. They finished the class by making a community garland, decorating hand cutouts with drawings of someone special to them, and many of the children also wrote letters to their loved ones.

This past Sunday, children and youth gathered to begin the February theme of the month, embodying resilience!
The PreK/K class started the class by participating in a running (in place!) challenge to release all the jittery energy! Then, they introduced themselves and discussed the winter weather activities they did the last two weeks, read the book The Little Engine that Could, and discussed what resilience means. They also made a layered sand jar, and learned a new game!

This past Sunday, RE and in-person service was cancelled due to winter weather! We hope that everyone has been staying warm and safe.
We are looking forward to welcoming everyone back to ERUUF on Sunday! We will be starting a new theme of the month, embodying resilience. See you there!

This past Sunday, children and youth gathered to continue exploring the January theme of the month: practicing resistance!
The PreK/K class learned about the importance of speaking up! They played a game, had a discussion, read the book Let Freedom Sing by Vanessa Newton, and did an activity about unfair rules. They wrapped up the class by making a collaborative class mosaic!

This past Sunday, children and youth gathered to continue learning about the January theme of the month: practicing resistance.
The PreK/K class did a deep breathing exercise, introduced themselves to the class and read the book Anh’s Anger by Gail Silver. Then, they made blow art by blowing on dots of water color. Afterwards, they enjoyed playing together on the playground!

This past Sunday, children and youth gathered for the first RE class of 2026! They began the January theme of the month, practicing resistance.
The PreK/Kindergarten class started the class by playing a fun game and introducing themselves to the class. Then, they read the book Elmer the Patchwork Elephant by David McKee, decorated socks, and enjoyed playing outside together!

This past Sunday, children and youth joined the entire congregation for the annual Kwanzaa service. It was a beautiful service with inspiring stories, fun songs, and a lot of joy! After service, there was a Karamu (feast), with ham, chicken, beans, rice, sweet potatoes, greens, and lots of desserts.
We hope you can join us this upcoming Sunday as we resume our normal RE classes. The January theme of the month is practicing resistance!
