We require a new registration form for all young people (age 0-18) involved in RE each year to ensure we have correct and up-to-date information for everyone.

This past Sunday, children and youth continued learning about the May theme of the month, awakening curiosity. Specifically, they learned about how curiosity is a bridge to a world with wiser people.
The PreK/K group started class by playing a fun I-spy game and introducing themselves to the class! Then, they worked together to complete a puzzle, and did an adorable bird craft! They all enjoyed the beautiful day on the playground after class.
The 1st - 5th grade class gathered together to sing this month’s song, “Where Do We Come From,” and listen to the wisdom story “Anansi and the Pot of Wisdom.” Then, they participated in a group discussion about curiosity, and did some collaborative puzzles. After class they enjoyed the beautiful day on the playground.
Middle School RE and High School Youth Group did not have any attendees this weekend!

This past Sunday, children and youth gathered to continue the May theme of the month, awakening curiosity.
The PreK/K group started class by playing a fun imagination game and introducing themselves to the class. Then, they learned about the importance of imagination and curiosity and how they can be a bridge to a more exciting world. They also read the book Harold and the Purple Crayon by Crockett Johnson, and made some fun drawings.

This past Sunday children and youth gathered to continue the May theme of the month, awakening curiosity! All classes learned about
The PreK/K group started the class by playing a fun scavenger hunt game, and introducing themselves to the group! Then, they observed a couple of nature finds (and discussed why diversity is important in nature), and read the book The Great Kapok Tree by Lynne Cherry. They also made a fun nature mandala, and enjoyed time on the playground!

This past Sunday, children and youth gathered to start the May theme of the month, awakening curiosity. They also celebrated Star Wars Day!
The PreK/K group started the class by doing Baby Yoda Yoga, then they introduced themselves to the class and learned about lightsabers and their connection to curiosity and justice. Then, they read the book I am a Jedi and made Jedi shields with glow in the dark pens! They also did a scavenger hunt to find glow in the dark pictures!

This past Sunday children and youth gathered to wrap up the April theme of the month, embracing possibilities.
The PreK/K group started the class by playing a silly superhero game, then they introduced themselves to the class and learned about how they are all superheroes! They also read the book The Dot by Peter Reynolds, and made their very own dot art!

This past Sunday, children and youth gathered to celebrate ERUUF’s 60th birthday!
The PreK/K group started the class by talking about Earth Day and playing a fun game! Then, they introduced themselves and listened to The Earth Book by Todd Parr. Afterwards, they made birthday hats and decorated pennants with their wishes for ERUUF.

This past Sunday, children and youth gathered to start a new theme of the month, embracing possibilities. This week, children and youth learned about embracing possibilities of building a better world!
The PreK/K group started the class by playing a fun icebreaker game! Then, they introduced themselves and talked about their favorite snack (peaches, candy, ice cream, and fondue were all discussed!). Afterwards, they read the book Say Something by Peter Reynolds and made speaking tubes as a craft!

This past Sunday, children and youth gathered with the entire congregation for the multigenerational service. During the service, they participated in the annual ERUUF flower ceremony. They also listened to music, stories, and reflections. After service, all children and youth participated in an Easter Can Hunt, where they searched for cans.
In total, we donated over 100 cans of food to Emmanuel’s Pantry!
Emanuel Food Pantry's March Collection
Big THANKS to everyone who donated food in March and to the RE youth who helped sort the different varieties of proteins into boxes for delivery to the Emanuel Food Pantry. The partnership between the Multicultural Team and RE is an ongoing initiative to help address food insecurity in Durham.
- On Sunday, April 12, we will be collecting hot/cold breakfast cereals
- On Sunday, April 19, we will be collecting all varieties of protein.
We will be in the Fellowship Hall after both the 9am (4/12 only) and the 11am services.

This past Sunday, children and youth concluded the RE theme of the month, paying attention!
The PreK/K group learned about the importance of paying attention to water. They started the class by playing a fun movement game, then they introduced themselves to the class and shared their favorite outside activity. Afterwards, they observed some cool water, and read the book All the Water in the World by George Ella Lyon. Then they did some water color painting!
The 1st - 8th grade group learned about the importance of paying attention to inequality. They read the book Something Happened in our Town: a Child’s Story about Racial Injustice, and they had conversations about injustice in small groups. After discussing, they played an unjust penny pick up game. Then they broke into groups based on interest, the craft group made an equity flower garden, and the activity group played a movement game centered around justice.
The high school youth group gathered after service to eat, chat, and play fun games!
