RENews:
This past Sunday, children and youth resumed RE classes, and continued the March theme of the month, paying attention!
The PreK/K group started the class by doing a fun finger breathing exercise, and introducing themselves to each other! Then, they read the book Moody Cow by Kerry Lee MacLean. Afterwards, they practiced deep breathing by trying to blow bubbles very slowly. While blowing bubbles, they played with each other on the playground!
The 1st-5th grade class began by learning about the importance of listening to their heart and wisdom from within. Then, they listened to the wisdom tale “Listen to your Heart and Decide”, and they reflected on the story and times when they had to make tough decisions. Afterwards, they broke into groups based on interest. The game group went to the playground to practice listening to their heart, and they played a fun teambuilding game. The craft group drew their inner wisdom!
The Middle School RE class learned about the importance of paying attention to the present moment. They played various games that challenged their attention, did an attention mapping activity, and helped sort food donations for Emmanuel Food Pantry.
High School Youth Group was treated to a catered lunch (thanks, RE Luncheon team!), then spent the afternoon checking in, catching up, and chatting about school and Spring Break plans.
