????️RENews:

This past Sunday, children and youth gathered to continue November’s theme of gratitude. They also enjoyed hearing the children’s choirs sing during the service.

The preschool and kindergarten class began in a circle, sharing their joys and concerns. They talked about donuts as a small symbol of gratitude, read the class favorite Thank You, Omu, decorated paper donuts, and finished with Krispy Kreme on the playground.

The 1st–5th graders opened with a brain teaser and a discussion about how donuts can be a reminder of gratitude. They listened to the story The Ungrateful Sparrow, then split into interest groups. The activity group began making superhero masks, while the game group learned how to play gratitude superpower tag. Class wrapped up with Krispy Kreme on the playground.

6-8th RE played a gratitude-themed game and decorated rocks to share in the community. In MSYG after service, they enjoyed donuts and lunch before heading off campus to Bull City Escape for an escape room adventure.

Also this weekend, we sent a crew of 11 youth and 3 advisors to Fall Senior High MountainCON in Highlands, NC. They spent Friday through Sunday among over 40 UU youth from all over the region.
