Mail in voting is underway, we are three weeks out from the start of Early Voting, and 40 days out from Election Day. This week, we will update you on some key election protection and voter turnout roles that are still looking for volunteers in the home stretch - including Rides to the Polls, ballot curing, county board of election monitoring, and serving as material distribution sites for Democracy NC.in safety.

National Phone Banks with UU the Vote September 23rd from 6:00 - 9:00pm. This fall, we're teaming up with Side With Love for two National UU the Vote phone banks. During the first 90 minutes, our expert in Christian Nationalist ideology, Kaleb Graves will train us on the diversity of Christian Nationalist identities and equip us with the tools needed to have effective, relational conversations. Rides to the Polls Info Session - Monday, September 28th from 7:00 - 8:00pm ET on Zoom. This year, we are teaming up with Disability Rights NC to offer rides to the polls during early voting and on election day. This program not only serves voters with disabilities, but also voters who call into the 888-OUR-VOTE hotline, and individuals who prefer to return their mail-in ballot to their county board of elections for safety reasons. The Rides to the Polls team will also have the opportunity to do rapid response ballot curing by hanging notifications on the doors of individuals whose ballots need to be corrected. Door to Door Canvass with North Carolina Asian Americans Together. Saturday, October 10th from 2:00 - 7:00 PM at Cedar Fork Park, 228 Aviation Pkwy, Morrisville, NC. NCAAT on the Block empowers volunteers to canvass their own communities through meaningful, face-to-face conversations. Dogwood Faith Project Training & Canvass at Monroe Halloween Happenings - Saturday October 17th from 9:00 - 4:00pm. Join us for our second-ever Dogwood Faith Project canvass in this critical community in the fight to resist Christian Nationalism. Breakfast, lunch, and afternoon tea provided for attendees. Using an innovative and evidence-based curriculum to reach people sympathetic to Christian Nationalism, we will have friendly conversations with voters to challenge Christian Nationalism without any awkward debates. The Side With Love team at Community Church of Chapel Hill is excited to announce that the duo of Friction Farm are coming to do our next Side With Love Concert on October 3. Their music combines storytelling, social commentary and humor to create songs of everyday life, local heroes, and quirky observations. The funds raised at this concert will support Side With Love activities in defense of democracy such as sponsorship of No Kings rallies and UU the Vote efforts.
