Doing What is Life-Giving
Worship Leader: Rabbi Noah Rubin-Blose
Music: ERUUF Summer Choir; Kate Lewis – Pianist; Wendy Looker – Music Director

Worship Associate: Simon Kaplan

This service will draw on poetry by contemporary Jewish poets to open up a space for renewal, reflection, and justice for all. Rabbi Noah will reflect on the choices we make to keep doing what is life-giving for us, even when we find ourselves in incredibly challenging times.

Rabbi Noah Rubin-Blose believes in the transformative power of Jewish time and ritual to build liberatory worlds in the face of empire. He supports our communities to grow and tend our roots and our belonging. He is a storyteller and ritualist, a crafter of shared decision-making for collective power, and a practitioner of nonviolent direct action. Prior to becoming a rabbi, he worked as a community organizer and caterer: he was a co-founder of Bread Uprising Bakery cooperative, an organizer of the Demilitarize! Durham2Palestine campaign, and author of the cookbook Making the Table: Vegetarian Recipes to Nourish Community. He is the rabbi of Makom Jewish community in the Triangle area of NC.
