This past Sunday, children and youth gathered to continue exploring the January theme of the month: practicing resistance!

The PreK/K class learned about the importance of speaking up! They played a game, had a discussion, read the book Let Freedom Sing by Vanessa Newton, and did an activity about unfair rules. They wrapped up the class by making a collaborative class mosaic!

The 1st - 5th graders started class by singing and song and discussing the importance of working together. Then, they read the book Unstoppable by Adam Rex. Afterwards, they broke into groups based on interest. The activity group made a collaborative mural, while the game group played a fun game that involved crossing an unjust river together!

Middle School RE class continued learning about resisting the unhealthy parts of social media. They discussed the pros and cons of social media, and played a game related to social media algorithms.

Middle School and High School Youth Groups had pizza and soda for lunch, then the Middle School group went to Wheels Durham for a fun afternoon on roller skates!
