RENews:
This past Sunday, children and youth gathered to begin the February theme of the month, embodying resilience!
The PreK/K class started the class by participating in a running (in place!) challenge to release all the jittery energy! Then, they introduced themselves and discussed the winter weather activities they did the last two weeks, read the book The Little Engine that Could, and discussed what resilience means. They also made a layered sand jar, and learned a new game!
The 1st - 5th graders had a special class, where they listened to guest speakers from the ERUUF community who have resisted unjust ICE activities in our local community. They also made yard signs that reflect UU values. It was a great class and the children and youth were very engaged!
The Middle School RE class discussed what resilience means to them, and played a very challenging game of don’t let the feather touch the floor! Then, the guest speakers from the 1st - 5th grade class came to lead a discussion about resisting ICE.
High School Youth Group enjoyed bagels for lunch and spending the afternoon in fellowship after many weeks away.
