????️RENews:

This past Sunday, children and youth gathered to continue learning about the February theme of the month, embodying resilience! They also learned about Ramadan!

The PreK/K class started by introducing themselves and talking about what resilience means and why it is important. They then learned about Ramadan and read a book together. They finished the class by making a community garland, decorating hand cutouts with drawings of someone special to them, and many of the children also wrote letters to their loved ones.

The 1st - 5th graders started the class by learning about Ramadan and the connection to resilience. Then, they read the book Lailah’s Lunchbox by Reem Faruqi. Afterwards, they broke into groups based on interest. The activity group made lentil soup, the game group played the human knot game, and the craft group made a community garland.

The Middle School RE class began the class by learning about Ellen and William Craft. Then, they played a fun community-building game and worked on a community constellation craft.

The High School and Middle School Youth groups enjoyed a pizza lunch, then they ventured to the ice skating rink for some community building and skating!
