????️RENews:

This past Sunday, children and youth gathered to continue learning about the March theme of the month, paying attention!

The PreK - K class learned about the importance of paying attention to inequality! They started the class by playing an unfair version of keeping the balloon off the floor, and discussed how the game could be more fair for everyone. Then, they read the book Malala’s Magic Pencil, and made their own magic pencil with drawings of change they want to see in the world! Afterwards, they spent time enjoying the nice weather on the playground (and playing fairly with others!).

The 1st - 5th grade class discussed the importance of paying attention to their impact on others. First, they played kindness BINGO, where they made connections with their peers! Then, they learned about interdependence and generosity and listened to the wisdom story ‘What’s in your Cup’. Afterwards, they broke into groups based on interest. The activity group worked together during a water relay, while the craft group made compliment suns!

The middle school RE class learned about the importance of paying attention to inequality. They discussed gender inequality, learned about their own privilege, and played a fun community building game.

High School Youth Group enjoyed bagels for lunch before checking in, doing an introspective question activity, and planning for the upcoming lock-in event. They spent some time outside as well!
