Support immediate technical corrections to HB 696 to protect healthcare coverage for pregnant women and children across North Carolina. Our state already has some of the worst maternal and infant health disparities in the nation. Tragically, more than 85% of pregnancy-related deaths are considered preventable. Women facing Medicaid eligibility restrictions or administrative barriers are more likely to experience gaps in health coverage during pregnancy and the postpartum period, which can delay or disrupt access to essential care. HB 686 will create new barriers to healthcare coverage stripping Medicaid coverage from approximately 27,000 children and pregnant moms. Send an email to your state legislators using Mamas Con Poder’s easy action tool.
