UU Justice NC's Friday Action Hour, February 7th at 11:00am. The Fight to Protect Medicaid Expansion. This week, Congressional leaders are negotiating a budget resolution, and North Carolina is at serious risk of losing Medicaid Expansion. In 2023, we finally won the expansion of Medicaid for over 600,000 people in our state, and we cannot let politicians in Washington take it away. This week, we'll be joined by Rebecca Cerese, Health Policy Advocate with the NC Justice Center. She will talk to us about the national week of action to protect Medicaid Expansion. Then, we will get on the phones calling our Federal elected officials. Review this week's resources and actions on our Google Doc, and Join via this Zoom Link.

30 Days of Love - Week 3: Water is life. Mní Wičóni, Water is life, is not just an anthem of resistance against the devastation and violence that colonization continues to inflict upon this world. Yes, to declare “water is life” is to demand an end to the pipelines and mines that destroy ancestral lands, as well as the deadly pollution of waterways and neighborhoods caused by chemical plants and industrial agriculture. But it is also a message of healing and hope, grounded in the wisdom of communities that have endured and persevered through the worst of humanity. It is sacred guidance—an invitation to all of us—to not only end the harm we have caused but to restore the gratitude and care inherent in the ecosystems to which we belong.
