????️RENews:

This past Sunday, children and youth gathered for the final Sunday of the month. They wrapped up the month by learning about how we can find resilience through silliness!

The PreK/K class jumped right into introducing themselves and everyone got to light their own chalice candle! Then, they read the book Click, Clack, Moo, Cows that Type! By Doreen Cronin, and they shared a good laugh during a whoopie cushion moment! They also did a silly craft, where they made their own silly sculptures. Toothpicks quickly became ‘spikes’ during craft time! They wrapped up the class by playing fun circle games and giggling together!

The 1st - 5th grade class had a great time learning about how humor can help us through hard times, and listening to the wisdom story “Nasreddin Hodja and the Smell of Soup”. Then, they participated in a R.E (really entertaining) comedy show! Afterwards, they split into groups based on interest. The craft group dressed up bananas and had a banana fashion show, while the activity group had a human fashion show with lots of fun costumes! It was a very goofy and fun class!

The Middle School RE class had a great time learning about Ellen Watkins Harper and her ability to use humor to bring people together! They also played a silly game of charades, made a fort, and played a word game together.

The High School Youth Group gathered to eat lunch, check in, learn more about each other, and plan for upcoming events!
