UU Justice NC January 9, 2026
Friday, January 9th at 11:00am. This week, we'll continue our work with the national campaign pressuring Avelo Airlines to end their $150 million contract with ICE to operate deportation flights. We will also call on our congressional delegation to condemn the Trump Administration's military strikes against Venezuela.
Friday, January 16th at 11:00am. This week we will be joined by our friends from the North Carolina Budget & Tax Center. They will brief us on the Love NC, Fund NC Campaign and the work ahead in 2026 to pressure the NC General Assembly to pass a state budget that funds Medicaid, Education and more.
Friday, February 27th. Celebration of our 300th Friday Action Hour! Mark your calendars!

UU Justice NC December 12, 2025
Friday, December 12th at 11:00am. National Avelo Airlines Action Hour. This Friday, we will partner up with UUA Side with Love and the National Coalition to Stop Avelo for a special national Action Hour. UUs and friends from across the country will join us to pressure Avelo Airlines to end their $150 million contract with ICE to operate deportation flights.

UU Justice NC December 19, 2025
Friday, December 19th at 11:00am - North Carolina Coalition for Alternatives to the Death Penalty. Noel Nickle, will join us to talk about the impacts of the harmful crime bill HB 307 that was signed into law this fall, and opened the door to new execution methods in NC including electrocutions and firing squads.
Friday, December 26th at 11:00 am - End of Year Reflection with Friday Action Hour. On the day after Christmas, Kaleb Graves will lead our beloved community in an end of year reflection rooted in our shared values. What a year it has been... Let's talk about it.

Friday, November 18th at 11:00 - From Mental Health to Immigration - All of our Struggles are Connected in NC. This week, Kaleb Graves will lead us in a deep look into the dire need for mental health services in our state and how it's connected to ICE & Border Patrol presence in Charlotte and the Triangle this week. Join us is taking action, calling for Mental Health funding through emails and phone calls to our elected officials.

UU Justice NC November 14, 2025
Friday, November 14th at 11:00 - 4th Amendment Workplace Training. This week, we will welcome Andrew Willis Garcés, founder and co-director of Siembra NC. Andrew will offer a 4th Amendment Workplace Training and introduce us to this powerful movement to protect business staff and patrons from unconstitutional search & seizure operations by ICE.
A 4th Amendment Workplace uses legally vetted protocols to:
- Identify invalid ICE warrants
- Secure private employee areas
- Document unconstitutional actions
- Defend all workers, no matter their immigration status

UU Justice NC November 7, 2025
Upcoming UU Justice NC Friday Action Hours!
Friday, November 7th at 11:00 am - State Budget Action Hour. This week, we will be joined by Maria Lopez Gonzalez, Public Policy Advocate with The NC Budget & Tax Center. Maria will brief us on the ongoing fight to pass a just state budget as well as the latest on the Federal government shutdown and SNAP benefits. Then we will take action, writing Letters to the Editor to demand that the NC General Assembly return to Raleigh this month and take action to raise the revenue to protect our crucial programs before tax cuts take effect on January 1st.

UU Justice NC's Friday Action Hour - Friday, October 17th at 11:00am - Conspiracy Theories. Far-right conspiracy theories have been a hot topic in political discourse for almost a decade: QAnon, weather control machines, vaccine tracking chips, and space lasers among them. Unfortunately, conspiracy theories are seeping into culture in progressive circles as well. Join UU Justice NC Congregational Mobilizer Kaleb Graves to talk about conspiracy theories, from how they fuel antisemitism to how they damage our organizing for a just society. There will even be a conspiracy theory game show to keep things interesting!
